RECHEM…A WOMB
Exodus 34:5,6
YHVH wanted to reveal Himself to Moses.
Moses recorded what he saw and heard, bearing in mind that the recorded version is nothing compared to what he experienced in actuality…we can only imagine!
5. “YHVH descended in the cloud and stood there with him(Moses) as he(Moses) called upon the name of YHVH.
6. Then YHVH passed before his face and said
‘YHVH YHVH El rachum‘ …”
‘rachum‘…In our English translations, we get words like ‘compassionate‘, ‘merciful‘
but neither of these does justice to the depth of meaning in the Hebrew
word ‘rachum‘.
The word ‘rechem‘ is a noun in Hebrew meaning ‘A WOMB’
‘Rachum‘ is the adjectival form of the noun, one that YHVH chooses first, purposely, to describe Himself to Moses.
YHVH is WOMB-LIKE!
It’s much more than just being merciful, compassionate, forgiving and good, and all other English translations of this word.
A womb is an incubator where life can grow, be nourished and protected.
That is what our Abba YHVH is to us.
Think on this and be blessed!
