The western world has a very philosophical, Greek-based education system and our English language is Latin-based. This is due to the two very powerful conquering and ruling empires of Greece (600BC-146AD approx.) and Rome (146AD-476AD approx.).

Greece brought a period of what is called ‘Hellenisation’ into the structure of Hebrew priesthood and Temple service, changing forever what had been a Tzadoq priesthood system since the time of Solomon, in Israel.

Map of Roman EmpireFollowing that, the conquest of Greek rule brought the power of Rome over Western Europe, as far west as England and stretching out to the east as far as Israel and Egypt.

During the period of Roman rule, another powerful force was spreading east and west – the powerful, living, anointed message of the good news of Jesus Christ (Yeshua HaMashiach).

Yeshua was born a Jew, in Israel, living and teaching the Word of His Father in Heaven, according to the testimony of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the writings of Moses and the prophets of Israel.

This was truly Hebraic teaching in Hebrew (the language of the ancient scriptures) and Aramaic (the slightly altered language), which came after 70 years in captivity in Babylon.

Every parable and image that Yeshua used in His teaching was directly centred on Hebraic life and experience.

The following video should help to explain the differences between Greek and Hebraic thinking.

Since our Bibles are totally rooted in Hebraic understanding, we need to see the difficulties this can present.
