WORSHIP is, in its foundational understanding, submitting ourselves to God and acknowledging His sovereignty.
That can be in praise, adoration, and serving Him by living out His precepts in everything we do.
There are many motivations that bring us to worship and choose to declare His sovereignty in us: His love, mercy, grace, goodness, loving kindness, forgiveness…we could just go on and on extolling His unmatchable greatness!
These things motivate us to pour out praise and choose to live in the way that He has ordered for us.
When King David structured worship in the Tabernacle, he had musicians of all kinds, singers, and priests who served in all the temple offices, serving God and serving the people.
Praise God in His sanctuary.
Praise Him in His mighty heavens.
Praise Him for His mighty acts;
praise Him for His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
praise Him with the harp and lyre.
Praise Him with tambourine and dancing;
praise Him with the strings and flute.
Praise Him with clashing cymbals;
praise Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Hallelujah!
Somehow, we have made music and song the preeminent part of what we call ‘worship’.
Music, in itself, is not the sole means of worship but it can help to give expression to what we want to declare.
Worship is what we do, as in the Tabernacle of David, when we join our hearts and minds, exhorting each other, declaring the truth in the Word, participating in communion as an act of thanksgiving, and serving others in every way possible.
What we present in this Creative Worship section will be a collection of people’s creative, artistic expression of our great God and the beauty of His creation (of which we are the earthly pinnacle!).
Enjoy these beautiful expressions of praise and service.
